Thokarpa is located in Ward No. 1 of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality. This ward is made up of Wards 1-4 of the former Thokarpa Village Development Committee. During the implementation of federalism after the new constitution of Nepal, Thokarpa, which is a village development committee, has fallen into Ward No. 1 of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality.
The eastern border of Thokarpa is connected with ward no. 2, Chokati village. And, the western border is connected with Kalika village of ward no. 3. Similarly, the northern and southern borders are connected with Kalika village and Kavre respectively.
