Bigu Rural Municipality

Bigu Rural Municipality is located in the Dolakha district of Bagmati province, Nepal. This rural municipality is a geographical and administrative unit established by sub-section (3) of Article 295 of the Constitution of Nepal. uring the state structure after the new constitution, i.e. during the implementation of federalism, based on the information published in the gazette by the Government of Nepal on the 27th of Falgun 2073, this rural municipality was established by adjusting the former Lamabagar, Orang, Bulung, Laduk, Chilankha, Bigu, Khopachagu & Alampu village development committees. 

There are 8 ward offices in Bigu Gaupalika. This rural municipality is named after Bigu Gumba, a famous tourist spot in Dolakha district. This is one of the biggest local governments in terms of the area in Dolakha. The total area of Bigu is 663.2 square kilometres. According to the National Census 2078, The total population of Bigu is 16490. 68.1 %is the literacy rate of Bigu Gaupalika. 

The eastern border of Bigu is connected with Gaurishankar Rural Municipality. Bhotekoshi is in the west direction of this rural municipality. The northern border is connected with China. Similarly, Kalinchok Gaupalika is in the southern direction of Bigu.
